fashionista fridays-daphne guinness

i love to read. but to be honest, i never have the patience or the time to get through entire novels. just to get through each month’s Vogue and W, i have to be on a plane because there are no distractions and i have to be seated–not because i don’t love them–but because i have the worst A.D.D ever. however, i LOVE biographies. i enjoy delving into people’s lives and learning what they’ve been through-especially people in the fashion industry.

that is why from now on, the last day of the work-week will be devoted to “fashionista fridays” (thank you Lecy for the clever name). this will give you a little insight into different people in the fashion world-including, but not limited to: designers, models, stylists, journalists, bloggers, socialites, and just rich people who have the funds to have fabulous wardrobes and happen to have impeccable taste.

which brings us to our first person: Daphne Guinness

even if you have no idea who she is, you know her name. part of the Guinness fortune, she has catapulted herself into the center of the couture world.

marrying a greek shipping tycoon, she doubled her wealthiness that can be seen through her covetable haute couture wardrobe…especially after her divorce.

she has 3 children, one of which dated Mary-Kate Olsen and Paris Hilton.

after starting her own line, her own perfume, and dabbling in journalism, she is now the face and muse of NARS.

oh to have her wardrobe….

fun fact: summering in Spain during her childhood, she used to swim in Salvador Dali’s lobster-filled pool.
